【摘要】:Particlesininsulatingoilcanhaveadetrimentaleffectonthedielectricpropertiesofthefluid,dependingonthesize,concentration,andnatureoftheparticles.Thesourceoftheseparticlescanbeexternalcontaminants,oildegradationby-products,orinternalmaterialssuchasmetals,carbon,orcellulosefibers.Particlecountsprovideageneraldegreeofcontaminationlevelandmaybeusefulinaccessingtheconditionofspecifictypesofelectricalequipment.Particlecountscanalsobeusedtodeterminefilteringeffectivenesswhenprocessingoil.Ifmorespecificknowledgeofthenatureoftheparticlesisneeded,othertestssuchasmetalsanalysisorfiberidentificationandcountingmustbeperformed.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofparticleconcentrationandparticlesizedistributioninmineralinsulatingoil.Itissuitablefortestingoilshavingaviscosityof6to20cStat40x00B0;C.Thetestmethodisspecifictoliquidautomaticparticleanalyzersthatusethelightextinctionprinciple.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
